Borneo Outdoor Discovery (Sarawak)

Orang Utan, Cycling and impressive Limestone Karst Landscape

Combining a date with the “Wild-man of the Jungle”, the Orangutan, with exciting off road mountain biking and exploration of a spectacular mountain cave.

We start off early with a transfer to visit Semenggoh Nature Reserve, a large enclosed area of rainforest which is home to endangered Orangutans rescued from captivity and kept for rehabilitation. During the scheduled feeding time, some orangutans may descend from the rainforest to the lower branches of trees near the feeding platform. Those who are in luck will be offered a wealth of facial expressions by mankind’s closest relative.

After the feeding time, we take a 30 minutes scenic drive to the majestic Fairy Cave filled with bats and impressive mountain chambers. We then hit the saddle and head off-road to explore some hidden gold mines through some spectacular limestone karst landscape! Along the way, we paddle into the historical gold mining town of Bau for a well deserved lunch! With energy re-charged, experience the moderately challenging off-road up and down hill of Borneo rainforest. At the end of the ride, we then load up our bikes and head off to your city hotel.

Rain or shine we always ride!
